Huh :D

I felt like i was playing a game on the NES. Good job! I would say that if you want to be hardcore 8-bit you shouldn't use any FX, don't master (except for volume) and don't use arpeggiators. But all in all this is a good 8-bit piece. Keep it up!

EliteFerrex responds:

Well, I don't use any Arpeggiators, first of all, and secondly, any FX (other than a very tiny bit of reverb to save peoples ears from hurting on sharp notes) are made through adjusting the 8-bit plugins themselves, doing things that could be done if I actually had an 8-bit synthesizer in front of me. For example, the "echo" on the notes that begin at 0:22 (and other notes that echo like that) is accomplished through a seperate track of the same synth, but with release applied to the note, to "hold it out" which is something that the original composers of 8-bit did quite often, if you listen carefully. If you have any questions about how I make any other notes, feel free to ask!

Anyway, thanks for the review, and I'm glad you liked it.

hm...

I smell a midi rip, if it is, you fail at audio and life. (-4/10)
But if this is magically not, GREAT F**KIN JOB!!!!! All you need know is some eq reverb and this is great! 7/10!

darphfluffy responds:

well thanks then for the GREAT F**KIN JOB!!!!!, and yeah, i suck at mastering a recording. i submit my shit raw!

hmm...

Very retro 80s feel, could work on the transitions though.

Nice...

But the voxes werent properly sliced, EG there the wrong pitch, which isnt very hard to change. But nice job anyway. :D

interesting

I think it would be cool if at 44, it broke out into a dnb/breakbeat drum slice, that would add a lot to it. Then it would be a genre i made up called breakbeat trance! :D
But anyways the synths are nice, the drums arnt overpowering, and it has a nice feel through out the song. Great job!

Psy-nigma responds:

I might decide to do a remix to this song soon. I love doing intricate drum work. during this project I was going into the DnB realm and then decided to make it 2 projects.

The other track ended up sounding like this songs alter ego. no dance steps and the synths don't play a huge role its all drum work for the most part.

Check it out "Moon Casting rays"

Yeah my idea is to recombine both of the tracks for the remix.

Wow...

I'm like the 10000000 person to say this, but boy does this bring back memories. Thank you :D

SkyMarshall responds:

It sure as hell brought them back as I was making this, so I get you, man :)
Thanks for the 9 and review!

hmm...

Good melody, good feel, but... well.... um....
The mixing was crappy
the bass drum was way over volume
there was no panning
too repetitive
too clicky/poppy
Ok... Now that i have that out of my system (:P) it was a pretty good song, just needs to be remastered. Kinda like mine.....

IndieDance responds:

i like loud basses xD

and yeh i must master =] just working on too many songs atm xD

cool!

You had me head bobbing. I personally would get a really high 8 bit synth in there though, that would sound great. And the bass got a little annoying after a while, but all and all its a good song

Mr-green-apple responds:

dude this is 4 hours of work. i just came up with the beat in the shower. imagine what i could do in a week. haha glad you liked.

Nice!

Good job, your a pretty skilled composer. I would work on pitch range as that can make a song better or worse. But besides that, its flawless.

LK412 responds:

Wow thx. I just play piano for fun never took a lesson. I dont have A MIDI cable so i cant transfer my music from my keyboard so i have to do it on FL =(. Im gonna ask for one though. thx for the review man.
