lol reupload

does this entitle me to say the same thing i said on the other one? Although I forgot what I said. Anyways I learned from this song that staying up late turns you into an awesome dnb rapper bored guy.

SteakJohnson responds:

haha thanks, its true! I woke up in the morning and then couldnt rap for shit! just gotta try the same tonight hehe...

yay

better than most of the stuff in the audio portal

Rig responds:

iknorite

hm..

DBlue glitch?

Rig responds:

I think that was one of the many effects, yeah

Cool

I was gonna say you used the amen loop to much until I read the comments :P. And wow, you gotta love electro acoustics :). Great song, but I mean, your rig, how could it not be great? :D.

Rig responds:

Well, I'm not great at ping pong.

:C

wow...

Sounds just like classic trance. The mastering is perfect, the melody fits, and it has a feeling of dissonance. Great #$%^ing job!

djlonewolf17 responds:

Now thanks for that :D

Nice job on the mastering!

A few gropes though.
The mastering felt a little to compressed, like it needed some space.
I'd also give the drums a tiny bit more prominence. They feel kinda in the background. The beginning synth (honestly not sure if that's a bass or an backing synth) sounds too dry, I'd add a touch of reverb or delay.

But hey, as far as newgrounds techno goes this is pretty good. Just work the kinks out of the mastering and you've got a (hopefully) front page worthy song :D.

One last thing, this sound more dance than trance to me, but whatever.

Good luck!

DJ-Frosted responds:

XD thanks man and yeah i'll be sure to fix the little things when i release the final song :D

Huh :D

I felt like i was playing a game on the NES. Good job! I would say that if you want to be hardcore 8-bit you shouldn't use any FX, don't master (except for volume) and don't use arpeggiators. But all in all this is a good 8-bit piece. Keep it up!

EliteFerrex responds:

Well, I don't use any Arpeggiators, first of all, and secondly, any FX (other than a very tiny bit of reverb to save peoples ears from hurting on sharp notes) are made through adjusting the 8-bit plugins themselves, doing things that could be done if I actually had an 8-bit synthesizer in front of me. For example, the "echo" on the notes that begin at 0:22 (and other notes that echo like that) is accomplished through a seperate track of the same synth, but with release applied to the note, to "hold it out" which is something that the original composers of 8-bit did quite often, if you listen carefully. If you have any questions about how I make any other notes, feel free to ask!

Anyway, thanks for the review, and I'm glad you liked it.

hm...

I smell a midi rip, if it is, you fail at audio and life. (-4/10)
But if this is magically not, GREAT F**KIN JOB!!!!! All you need know is some eq reverb and this is great! 7/10!

darphfluffy responds:

well thanks then for the GREAT F**KIN JOB!!!!!, and yeah, i suck at mastering a recording. i submit my shit raw!

interesting

I think it would be cool if at 44, it broke out into a dnb/breakbeat drum slice, that would add a lot to it. Then it would be a genre i made up called breakbeat trance! :D
But anyways the synths are nice, the drums arnt overpowering, and it has a nice feel through out the song. Great job!

Psy-nigma responds:

I might decide to do a remix to this song soon. I love doing intricate drum work. during this project I was going into the DnB realm and then decided to make it 2 projects.

The other track ended up sounding like this songs alter ego. no dance steps and the synths don't play a huge role its all drum work for the most part.

Check it out "Moon Casting rays"

Yeah my idea is to recombine both of the tracks for the remix.

Wow...

I'm like the 10000000 person to say this, but boy does this bring back memories. Thank you :D

SkyMarshall responds:

It sure as hell brought them back as I was making this, so I get you, man :)
Thanks for the 9 and review!
